Each brand earns its position. Here is the practical breakdown when you cannot decide.
Mitsubishi Electric — best long-term reliability
Quietest indoor units in this group, very low failure rate after 7 years. Slightly more expensive but parts and service are everywhere in Thailand.
Daikin — best efficiency per baht
R32 Inverter range hits the highest SEER consistently. Smart features (Wi-Fi, auto leak detection) come standard on mid-range now.
Haier — best value-for-money
Improved dramatically over the last 3 years. New Crystal series matches Mitsubishi at the same BTU but 15–20% cheaper. Warranty is generous (10-year compressor).
Carrier — best for tough climates
Workhorse compressors that handle high humidity well. Slightly less efficient than Daikin but tend to last in coastal areas where corrosion is a problem.
