Inverter vs Non-Inverter Air Conditioners: Which Saves More?
How the two technologies actually differ, and the break-even point where an inverter pays for itself.

The mechanical difference is simple: a non-inverter compressor runs at one speed and switches on and off. An inverter compressor varies its speed continuously, slowing down once the room is cool.

Typical price gap on a 12,000 BTU unit: 4,000–6,000 THB.
Average savings from inverter: 25% on cooling bills.
If your AC bill is around 1,200 THB/month for that room: saving ≈ 300 THB/month → break-even in 14–20 months. After that, the inverter is pure profit for the rest of the unit's life (10+ years).
When non-inverter still makes sense
Guest rooms used a few hours per week, or rentals where the tenant pays the bill. Anywhere else in 2026, an inverter is the safer pick.
